Buddy Rich - The greatest drummer to ever live. The man actually suffered a heart attack on stage and didn't know it but finished the set anyways. Sadly, he died later that evening.

Lots of smoke, flashing lights and electronic support. Without these props he would be VERY ordinary.

The funny thing is that Joey Jordisan wasn't doing anything really original. I saw Tommy Lee of Motley Crue do the same thing only with a much cooler set-up many years before SlipKnot was even conceived.
