The future of UT99 and [FUN]... [Archive]

Up until now, not alot has been done with the [FUN]clan. We have our die-hard members and regulars that play everyday, but we haven't had a rumble or even a practice. I am in the process of making some changes and possibly some additions to correct this. I would love to be able to do some rumbles.

Everyone let me know here how serious you all wanna get. Do you just want to do practice every so often and possibly rumble with other clans occasionally? Do you wanna be more serious and practice to get ready to join FraggedNation for next season? Or do we just continue with what we are doing? I am asking these questions knowing that this clan is all about FUN. That is why we are here, to have fun. It's members will decide what it would like to do. I thank you guys and gals for being a part of this clan and making it bigger and better everyday. Have a good one.

If you guys are gonna get into some rumbles then count me in...that is if you all are happy with me joining. I am easygoing. Never been in a clan but I definetly want to have a few matches. Freestyle/Camping . My camping skills are not up to much but I can improve at that and my freestyle is alright. Hope you guys decide to go for it!

Wow dude, you can freekin' play like nobody's buisness. You just tear me up. I watched you as spectator for a while, and I have to say your technique is very impressive.

I've enjoyed playing when you are in the server, even though it means I die about twice as often as usual...

I think it would be FUN to kick some other clan's asses, besides I think I could do some damage this time around:) I would also do the FN matches again I found it to be alot of fun..Rumbles would be great way to start the clan in that direction.The only thing I will not tolerate is to be pushed around,for the way I choose it participate! I would do my best to be in for as many matches as work will allow... My first stand is to have FUN!!! Not to make this work for me as well, I have enough of that... That is the biggest reason I am here and not anywhere else is WE ALL HAVE FUN !!! This should be first on our minds as we move the clan along a new path!!! My hope is to make the clan into the BIGGEST [FUN] PARTY that you could ever want to be apart of!!!!!!!!!!! A place to go after a long hard day to have FUN and relax!!!!

Amen to the folks who don't want [FUN] to start resembling work. Competition is fine to a point, but I've seen too many people go overboard with it. I'd offer the observation that there are plenty of other clans out there for the hardcore competitors if that's how you see yourself. I don't want UT to become like, say, bowling, where you have to join a league just to be able to get a lane at the local alley and play. I have a life outside the clan, and need additional obligations like I need my fellow snipers to give me more holes in my head :-).

Having been a successful match coordinator, I can say from experience, that....

If we are going to participate, and be successful in any type of competition...whether it be FN, or just matches & rumbles, we have to play together as a team so we can get to know eachother, choose and learn maps, and work as a team. Otherwise, we are just a bunch of individuals wearing the same tag...talent can only get you so far. Personally, If I am going to participate and compete...I want to win.

For those who are competetive, and want to participate more...perhaps something can be set up so we can get together to practice a day or two a week at a set time?

I'm sure there is a place for every level of commitment and competition here. :)

Absolutely spot-on as far as needing to play together as a team if we're going to be effective competitors, and practice is essential. I was only trying to make it as clear as possible that UT is not my number one priority, so while I am both honored and happy to support [FUN] how, where, and when I can, if there are scheduling conflicts, they may not be resolved in favor of the clan. Just trying to be up-front about what kind of commitment people can expect from me: I love a good game and compete to the best of my ability given the limits imposed by life in general, but I don't think I'm ever going to be able to devote the time to this activity that's required to become as good at it as most of the players who hand me my arse on a regular basis :-).

For one thing, the days where I could get by on four hours of sleep a night are well behind me.

We have an unwritten rule here that I think all of us seem to follow real well: Life comes first...UT is a little relief to the stress caused by life. The way it looks right now is that quite a few folks are interested in doing the internal clan matches and clan against clan matches. The FN team is voluntary and for those that are willing to dedicate a little and go just a little beyond what the regular rumbles provide. Nobody here is ever going to be required or made to feel required to compete. It's just there if you want it and it is really fun and intense.

This is my 4th season competing in FN. It's my first season where I haven't been saddled with all the bullshit that comes with reffing. For the first time it feels like a fun recreation instead of a job you have to report to with only a moments notice. Have a good one.

For one thing winning is not where the fun is The fun is having good friends to play with at the end of a hard day after work.Winning is hard to do and when you hit the top then what? you got to work harder to stay on top. Trying to stay on top will alot of times break a clan to bits. Hello Everyone.

im completly agree with you {AoD}BLOODCLOT , like i said sometime, i never had been on a Clan for a game, actually im not a super player or something like that, i just love the UT 99, i didnt came here for be the super player, i discover UT 99 a long time ago and i have to say that be in a Clan for me, it wasnt interesting exactly for the mmm how can i say it.... requisites? of be a extreme or hardcore amazing player. But near September of 2007 i decided to install again the UT, i look around the Server and i discover [FUN] Server and well i just can say that i love it. FUN FUN FUN and more FUN, i expend a lot of time of my vacations playing jeje. and then when i became a [FUN] member and Draco and REX show me the TeamSpeak, woooww, i just find not only the pleasure of be in a game having a good time, i discover new friends who bring me their friendship. And this is what i love from FUN, the fact that im not a super player, im only a guy who enjoy playing with my new friends and listen and practice english jeje.

thats what im trying to say on my last post, when i refer to be with the best, not for be the super players, is about the quality of friends that we are. Having a very good good times.

So, i say again im with my [FUN] Friends :cool:

First of all i just wanted to say thank you all for the fun and your time helpin me get where i am today!!!!!!!

I may only be in Fun in training, but rumbles and practives sound great. I think its an oppertunity for us to show that you can have FUN and be talented at the same time. Dont get me wrong, it takes more work then you think. Draco knows how me and motor think about team play, and your right Tabitha about playing as 1. Draco knows it takes a alot to have a good TEAM game. I know I am always willing to help with team protocol for TS and the general team play, and Im sure Motor will be there also. FUN has alot of Talent but that gets you know where if your all p[laying like a bunch of individuals. Just remeber, its not about how much you practice, its what you practice that makes a good team!!! thats is all I got, and as most of you know Ill tell it how I see it.

i agree with u TK i for one know i need to work on my camping LOL i played to many years in run and gun and now this has been very hard for me to trans from that to a camper LOL i working on it as best as i can.

Umm, yeah. I know Draco, Rex, and a couple of others are working on trying to improve your team. There are multiple things I have noticed/seen while playing with, on, and against you guys I can review them with you. You have heard Phil and myself state a couple of things about training with xloc and going through maps, I don't know if they have hit home (they are simple and fun). Most of you know how I am when it comes to team play.

Camping isn't all that hard to do, I was able to go from a RnG/Freestyler to camping with no problems. It is not always having the best spot to hide or the best spot to get the most kills, this tends to get you some binds.

As Phil has stated, and so have I, we are always willing to go over these things.

Ok, now my mind is trailing from its original thought.....afdsdfad.....dang 17 hour work days.

I know I am only 5 months late on my committtttt but it takes sooooo long to load the form web site.

anyway, if the freestylers practice on the freestyling server and campers practice on the camping server I would like that, but the freestyers need to leave it at home with it on the camping server, have had a lot of non clan members say things about not doing anything with the clan members but the non clan members get kicked, ban, told not to be running around, etc.... I don't care who U are, if you come onto the camping server and break the rules Iwill say something, kick, then ban, don't argue, just say sorry and go on and play BY THE RULES that is why they are there! and no I did not make them, but I do play by them 100%. and I have seen a lot of freestylers come on and I warn them, they will say Oh sorry, and some will play right, others will play for a little bit and then go right back to running all the way accross the map to frag someone.

Got my vote for doing something, maybe teach some manners?
