Its a mod that sort of evens out the ping difference between the players. So it makes it that you point and shoot :) instead of point ahead of a person and shoot.

Even if a mod did even out the ping differences, and give everyone an even playing field.........Surely it would level out around the highest ping.

Seriously though, if I started playing with zero ping......I probably wouldn't be able to hit anyone.

The mod doesn't zero out the pings. Everyone still pings at their usual rate. The difference is that, in a normal match, the server dictates and decides where the bullets go, what they hit, and who gets the points. With Zero-ping rifles and instagib, the role of those things is taken from the server and given to the client. The client, based on the location of the other players as seen by the server, dictates where and when the bullet hits and then returns that info to the server. The end result is a much more even playing field by making all clients simulate a single-player environment. The problem is that certain strange things happen. You and your buddy are in an up-close battle and you never see the shot that kills you... At least on your end.

Catt, go give it a try. You'll need to adjust your play-style to where you aren't having to lead on your aiming. You just have to aim straight at someone to kill them instead of using a 3cm lead. Have a good one.

The easier way of drawing a parallel for a level of similar understanding is.....think of short pings and long distance pings and then think how games could be more evenly played if you were to "time stamp" client packet information in relation to the server output information.

Downloaded it and tried it. To cartoony being a third person shooter. I think I'd have more fun playing Super Mario in Nintendo ES. :p

Ooooh the NES, yeah I know what it is, I own one, still works and everything. It was the first gaming platform I ever laid eyes on, at age three. I played the first Zelda and Metroid games, and was hooked. You wrote Nintendo ES so I thought it was a misspelling on Nintendo DS lol.

Nintendo Entertainment System... Back when Nintendo still had me a loyal customer. I stopped playing their systems around the time of the Gamecube.
