I've installed UT on my work laptop (Dell Latitude E6500) and ran into the following problem: when I play a single player game, the only way to get proper graphics is to run it on software rendering. But that's like look at a black screen. When I try any of the other devices (D3D8, OpenGL) the game goes from normal to very slow to normal graphics again.
The system:
C2D P8400, 4gb ram, NVidia Quadro NVS 160M, Win 7 Pro 32-bit.
Any suggestions that I could try?

Sounds like the multi-core issue rearing it's ugly head. Also, check the MegCacheram= in the ini. If you set that number to high, the game starts hauling ass and do other unexplainable stuff like that.
