Hey all, please spare the jokes right now (the virus has run me out of patience), I was wondering if anybody here could help me in solving a problem virus that has infected my computer. The thing is called Vista Antimalware (or also Vista Defender Pro) aka eva.exe. I looked it up and apparently what it does is install itself on your computer and prompt you to buy and install a phony antivirus program every time you open a program on your computer. I can close it out in task manager but it just comes back over and over. I just wanted to know if anybody here could offer any serious help for this problem. Thanks all

i use malwarebytes for my protection.. i would d/l malwarebytes and install and update it.. its free aslong as you dont want to use the scheduled scanning.. turn off ur computer, and then disconnect your internet so it cant try reaching its host.. restart and start scanning.. let it fix what it can.. restart ur computer scan once again to make sure its gone and then reconnect ur internet once ur sure it has been removed..
this is what always works for me.. a little bit different instructions for the one that installs fake cd/dvd drives on ur computer.. that one took a bit of tinkering to figure out..
goodluck...

I tried it but I was all in a rush to fix it at the time, saw that I had to pay and then said "oops uninstall". I'll give it another go next, thanks guys. Oh, I found out that you can use the regedit thing on windows to stop the virus from popping up but I'm sure it doesn't get rid of it.

I couldn't help laughing at you. You're no moron in my opinion. It's something i hear a lot form co-workers and friends that have kids. It's a very sneaky program that will pass most virus protection programs. I use it always to remove that. Ask Phil about it, I used it on his buddy computer also.
