Since getting UT3, I figured I'd play about with the new editor, and man is it deep. The detail is incredible (as one would expect for such a new game) and you best have a nice computer to run the editor. Unlike the UT99 editor, which consists of mainly geometric subtraction and additive shapes, the UT ED III will allow you to construct your maps with as little of that as possible. Making detailed maps is made simple thanks to prefabs and static brushes. These are objects that are pretty much built into the game for use however you want, they range from skyscrapers to soda cans. For those who are familiar with the Unreal 99 editor, you could right click and have a tool to add a light and another for a single item wherever you clicked. In UT Ed III, any actor (items, lights, inventory etc.) would be loaded into this list. Well, I think a limit caps at about 20, but it makes it a hell of a lot easier to quickly add details without searching tirelessly through your actor class browser. I just started playing with the new editor, and I'll have a little more to say about it later. Anybody who's used it and can help me, feel free to add here :D
