I just love the terms "Data Chisel", and "If you use Linux, then you'll of course don't need to do this operation at all..." - bet that would make Kirk laugh

Another site for scripters (Booky etc)

http://www.robvanderwoude.com/index.php

We do scripting at work, though I don't write stuff from scratch, I'm okay at debugging or piecing stuff together from existing code. I'm still hopeful of writing something clever for UT! (dream on)

I only do SQL, XSL, some JavaScript, CSS and some HTML when needed. Usually I reuse code I wrote earlier because I know that works and just need to tweak certain things in it to make it work in a different situation.

Mostly I edit in Notepad++, or Microsoft's Visual Studio. On my Ubuntu machine @ home I use gkedit.

People whine at work that the link speed is crap

Perhaps this is why UT etc isn't big in South Africa?

I guess so, but the home uploads here aren't much better: I had to download a file, 110 mb, as a zip file. After taking the content apart and re-zipping it in 13 file's, total around 115 mb, I had to upload it again.

Download took me around 15 seconds, upload took me nearly 3.5 minutes.
