Picture format tips: .png

I not post new tread much, but i think this is useful, so here goes...

Begin Interview

Q: What a .png?
A: .png is standing for Portable Network Graphics

Q: Define .png
A: it to employ the loss-less data compression, and it's designed for transferring images on Internet. Not professional graphics. Though unofficially standing for PNG's NOT GIF.

Q: You have something to compare?
A: Yes compare between jpeg and png format.. see picture below, as u see those dirty background on jpeg than png.
Thought .png are substantially better than .jpeg-ls.

Q: Why you wrote this?
A: Because i noticed those signature and avators, I rather not name it, being to loss the color correction, or rgb. Beside .png can keep those colors clean.

End Interview

Last add, different photo programs such as painter or Gimp, or Photoshop support to create .png format.

Would like to add that if you want to use transparents (such as in my sig) then .png is a must. .jpg, .bmp and co. cannot produce transparents so you get a white box behind your picture instead of the seethru effect.

Yup that suck, but .png useful for true pictures such as deviantart.com :P
