A friend of mine on facebook posted this video. I usually don't go for this particular genre but I find it refreshing in an odd sort of way, maybe even a little hopeful that popular music may be getting saved from its talentless self.

Don't get me wrong... They are still really heavy on the synth stuff but the presence of actual musicians and the fact that the song centers around the use of actual instruments kind of gives me hope that truly beautiful, inspiring music may be coming around the bend.

I am with Draco on the synth stuff but defiantly have to say I do like their bow work. So much so that I had to go dig to see if they had a better balanced sample of their sting playing abilities and I think I found it. You can hear and feel the emotion and the flow of the senses in this track. Nice find Draco. The other vid was good but the camera slipped on the bow work sound (bow draws) didn't match some portions of the clips. They do have talent.

Here's more hope, although have been around for several years...The Kelley Polar Quartet.

Kelley Polar is now solo and still works his synths/strings like a madman. Here's a song of his called, "My Beauty In The Moon". Hope you all enjoy it.

I myself like it. Its a sound that is kind of a cross of Tech-no with New Age vocals and compilations along with a good touch of "chill out lounge" atmosphere. Beauty in the Moon is very nice. Although heavy with female vocals the concept of the music is not unlike Shadowfax.

Its about 11:30 pm on a late fall evening in New Hampshire, no moon at all, the air is so clean you can not only see a lot of stars but you can actually see the Milky Way ( like a National Geographic night sky observatory photo).

You’re traveling down a twisting mountain road at a leisurely 55 mph and the road is flawlessly covered with fallen maple leaves.

To your left in the valley in and laid out in front of you in the valley bellow is a huge lake and the waters surface you can see the twinkling reflection of the closer stars in the evening sky above you. Now the road in front of you is pitch black and only you headlights are lighting up the red and yellow fallen maple leaves.

You lightly tap on the brakes so that only the brake lights illuminate, so that you view in the rear and side mirrors the maple leaves fly up off the ground and swirl around the sides of the car and in the air behind you as you pass over them.

There is music on the radio that you had just tuned to about two minutes ago and that type of an evening drive is allowing you to even become more in tune and entranced by the music.

Somewhere close to the tracks end and you can tell the music is almost over, you start to think in your mind….Wow, I like this music…it sounds like a New Age Group…I wonder who it could be…sounds like it could be……but then you switch to the thought of….Humm, if I had to name that song what would I call it…. and you think for a few seconds…then you speak it aloud to your self… “The Dream of a Child or maybe even Children’s Dreams” seems sensible enough and a good fit too.

The track ends and the announcer says …and that was Sahdowfax with their release of” The Dreams of Children”……can you say OMG and WOW and your body feels like someone had just tapped you on the shoulder and you were mildly startled.

I swear TRUE STORY.

jazzechos, You had a musical supernatural/psychic experience. How incredible, and I love it when people really "feel" music. What a beautiful story of the first time you've heard the song!

I have a question for out Lord Marshall Draco....Might there be the possibility of members having the ability to up load a favorite tune and having those tunes play while viewing the forum? (With NO ability to download) This way people would be able to share a sound that for some reason hits them in a special way and they could share the the experience and have an open discussion.

This way we could talk about a group or a sound. People would only be able to up load lets say no more than two tracks and then if they wanted to load another it would over-right one of the existing tracks.

I have a real "toe tapper" blues tune that I think all would greatly enjoy, even those that don't like the blues would find it hard not to like it. It is called "Big Boss Woman" by Johnnie Bassett it is pure fun and funny and makes you think cheerfully of someone you might have known.
