Hello,

I was playing today at 12pm or there about on Freestyle, I have PMd Draco, but I put it down to nothing in particular.

However I was running HLSW and all the FunServers went Red.

I lost connection to TS earlier prior to paying CoD with Corn.

Later on, Corn lost connection to CoD and I lost connection to TS again.

Might be a European thing, as when I was on Freestyle earlier the other players were still connected when I lost connection.

If all the servers in my list went on the blink I can see that, but when all the 173.45.101 range went red at the same time, makes me wonder.

Attached is a screenshot showing the block of red for Freestyle - this was when it went pants, and did it for the other servers.

Can an admin have a look and see if it was a loss of communication (switch) or something else?

I would have expected to have lost my connection to CoD and Teamspeak, whereas I lost just Teamspeak and Corn lost CoD.

I was thinking it was just my PC, until Corn got a glitch.

Thanks

I had Never heard of HLSW before, but have just downloaded an installed it and its a great little tool!!! saves messing around booting UT to find no one is on :D

Thanks for unkowingly giving me the heads up about it :D

THE_PHIL aka Micheal Keaton/Mel Gibson swears by it, I use it to connect to CoD, I don't use it to connect to UT, but I find it useful to see who is on what server without using Gametracker.

PHIL says you don't need the CD in the drive for CoD (I leave the disc in anyway so can't verify this).

I Swear by it now to lol

I will try CoD tonight if I get time because I Have to clear some room seeing as the uploader decided to .rar the 2x CoD.iso`s, instructions folder and 2x Expansion .iso`s all together ???

A bit annoying that, I am wired to my router (I scrapped wifi). Need to check with Corn later that he got disconnected from CoD when I dropped TS.

I have been getting the red box coming up today, but my ping is okay.

Cheers Mike, I'll keep an eye on it.

It means that they could finally be doing something about the 2 service tickets I put in earlier this week. Anther thing is is that HLSW and UTspy, when left open during game-play, can cause terrible ping spikes. This probably isn't the case here but just so you know. If there is a way to have the program close when you start the game, this would stop the ping spikes. Have a good one.

I don't use HLSW to fire up UT, but I do for CoD, and generally I only fire up HWSW for CoD or to see who is onthe UT servers.

I'll bear that in mind though.

Cheers

Yes I does, I noticed the first time I fired up UT freestyle from it so I have gone in to "settings an then connection" and told it to shut down when connecting through it, there are other options like disable traffic when connecting but I thought shut it down because its not like Im using it while playing lol

I have played with HLSW running, but never run the game with it - I type the IP in manually (a bit lame perhaps). Never had any problems before.

Only reason I don't do the IP manually on CoD is I can't figure out how!

Incod go to join game, then up top click "add favorite>type in server ip and give it a name> bam done!!!

Does anyone use Xfire anymore? .................

I do all the time ...................

XFire's problem in my eyes is that it's too much of a messenger. I don't even turn on MSN anymore because, when I do, there are 40 waiting message windows and people just being too insistent about things. If they could create one without the messenger, I'd probably use it.

Never used it and never turn on MSN either, I would never have time to do anything if I did. PPL I.m`ing all the time gets on my nerves lol

I always use XFire, but I don't get the millions of awaiting messages. So, it doesn't feel like JUST a messenger to me.

i liked x fire untill random twit was trying to send me viruses all the time. it was ok except for that, and i wasnt clear as to how secure it was. it just gave me that not so fresh feeling also....when i looked and it told me that i had wasted every hour of every day playing games!!!!!

and on a side bar...i have always connected threw hlsw, have always played with it on, and my ping still stas low. I will try to adjust settings but it never bothered me. the only thing that really hinders my lagg is if im running web based messenger while trying to play.

This is what makes me think HLSW is okay. The ping stays the same. I just thought it co-incidental after I had a glitch, Corn dropped out of CoD and I lost TS

i have also lost connection to the servers and TS while others have had no problems..I used to watch the other servers from dallas to see if it was just me...like DOU.

Normaly when you start UT or CoD with HSLW, HSLW gets minimized and is doing nothing as far as I know. I start CoD with HLSW because you don't need the CD to play it. UT almost never, I just use it for watching the population on servers.

Ive only had the odd ping spike to 1000, but Im sure that is my dumb ass ISP. Other than that they are all running a lot better than they ever have since Draco took over my Laptop and changed my UT settings :)

DOU is also in the middle of making the change to our new provider, as well. hysthysthysthyst Soon you'll be able to do that again.
