We have a ton of IT pros here in the clan but I have to ask... How many know of FireDaemon? After fighting with the dedicated server for days, yesterday I downloaded a free trial of FireDaemon Trinity. This program is extremely slick! It loads our servers up on boot-up as background services automatically. The reason why it's good to do this is Server 2003 and Server 2008 by default give priority to background services allowing our dedicated server to run more efficiently. I was able to create services that would boot up on my own but, if the gameserver crashed, it stayed dead until someone noticed it and contacted me so I could login into the box and fire up the server again. FireDaemon continually monitors the services to restarts them if something happens.

This software also gives the ability to be able to login into the server through a web browser and control the servers. You assign permission levels so that each of our admins could have their unique account. I highly recommend this software to anyone who has a need to control background services remotely or on a local machine.

It doesn't change the access you have currently on the servers. It is the back end stuff that we work on (uploading maps, server maintenance, restarting game servers, etc) that this program can assist with.

We have received what could be considered a sponsorship from FireDaemon. The nice folks over there have given us the software for free providing that we put their banner on our website with a link back to them. I have no problems doing this because it is such an awesome product and it does exactly what we need it too. Our server is chugging along without even so much as a hick-up. Now, we just need to get the routes straightened out and we are set.
