I'm just wondering what kind (if any) programme you are using to monitor the temperature of your CPU and what your experiences are. I currently use two: CoreTemp and Speedfan.

One more thing: does anyone else has a Dual Core E8400? I like to know you're idle and stressed tempeatures: cause I'm abit puzzled about mine.
I've overclocked mine to 3,6 Ghz and the two programs mention above both say that the idle temp is 42 degrees Celsius. However on full load, they only go up to a max of 47 (even after 3 hours non-stop full load), which I find odd...

Laptop or desktop?

If desktop, what type of heatsink/cooling system for the processor?

I should have posted that with it I guess...

Desktop: mobo is an ASUS P5K3 Deluxe Wifi (http://www.asus.com/999/images/products/1645/1645_l.jpg), cpu cooler is: Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme clicky (http://www.thermalright.com/new_a_page/product_page/cpu/u120ex/product_cpu_cooler_u120ex.htm?art=MTQyMywxLCxoZW50 aHVzaWFzdA), with two 120mm fans spinning at around 1300rpm, VCore is 1.325 atm which I'll be trying to lower...

Case is currently open, so no bad-airflow influence...

I use speedfan have intel 2.4 ghz quad core socket 775, 3-80 mm fans 2 out 1 in, Artic Cooling Freezer 7 pro 92mm cpu cooler. Computer comes on at 4 am off at 9 pm most of the time. Sometimes is on longer. CPU temp idle 34-36c max 41c as far as i know. Recently installed Nvidia 9600 graphics card and core temp went up to 46 so i moved fan on side and dropped core temp back down.:)
