Ok so here is the deal.
I worked my ass off to buy a new vid card and a good cooler for my cpu.
Turns out that was not what was causing my pc to freeze up.
For those wondering. I rebuild my pc from scratch and for some reason it worked again. A good karate kick will do that lol.
Now after monitoring my system with asus pc probe i found out the vcore (whatever that is) is running low on voltage and also my chassis fan is not working at all.
My motherboard is a Asus K8N4-E Deluxe. The vcore's voltage is around 1.34V and sometimes goes up to 1.36V
Right now im tuning my system with nvidea ntune and hope that will do the trick. If not does anyone else have a solution. And might be able to explain what the vcore is?

Annother detail my pc has 3 ram slots. Right now its holding 3 : Nanya 512mb DDR-266MHz-CL2 units.

Burn this ISO onto a cd and boot your pc with it in the optical drive. It will test your RAM. If you get errors then you need to re-run the test with only one stick of RAM in at a time to nail down which one is faulty. If all 3 test ok then I'd say Power supply.

Ok so thats not it, all works. Damnit hahaha lawl wish that was it, that would have been great. I would have known what the prob was and i would be able to fix it:P hehehe hmmm!

Does your computer have on-board graphics? If so, yank the vid card and use your on-board graphics long enough to rule out overloaded PS. If you yank the card and vcore voltage goes up to where it should be then that could be it.

No It doesn have on board vid card. But it could very well be the problem. It seems that the problem is sort of random on other hardware as well. I just noticed that when i rebooted an error occured saying the chipfan's speed was too low. I do get that one a lot lately. Im gonna do some research on a best choice new ps and see if that will fix my prob. Ive had enough of this b**** lol.
If it continues like it does now im only 2 steps away from a new pc. Only need a new mb and processor. lol
I hope it doesnt though. Dont have the money to spare.

Ok so what ive done as a little test is unplug as many things as possible.
I unplugged my extra hd, the fan in the back, my cd-drive, my cd/dvd burner and ive turned down the rpm on my cpu fan (got a lil manual controler on the outside of the casing) and still it says the vcore voltage is too low. So im not shure if it is the power suply. Tomorrow ill try it with by taking out the vidcard.

If thats not it im clueless.

make sure your checking it at both idle and load to seee if it changes, but then again if you have everything unplugged and its still not getting the right voltz then im clueless. I still wouldnt rule out PS, it could be just that bad. call erik, im sure he has a few setting around!!!

Hehehe i just tinkered around with asus cool and quiet then installed amd cool and quiet. then went to bios and succesfully changed the vcore voltage to 1,40V as it should be for a amd sempron 3000+ so now its time to test the crap out of it and see if it still freezes up:D GAME TIME:D YES!!

1.40 for a VCore on a AMD? Have you been overclocking it?!

VCore is the voltage that's going to your cpu, read-outs on a system are never 100% accurate. But as long as you're not overclocking and if your pc seems to run stable there's no need to open the case and use other tools to find out the actual voltage...

Is this on a laptop or a desktop pc btw? You might want to have a look at the airflow in your system...

Its a desktop pc. The airflow is good. Got a fan in the back taking out the hot air. And a very good cooler on my cpu with heatsink. Its a Zalman CNPS7000C-AICu.
I did not overclock it. The standerd voltage for my sempron 3000+ is 1.40V. It was too low and unstable. Now its running perfect. Nice and smooth:) so i guess i didnt have to buy a new vid card. But im glad i did:p lol
