Ok, NOT ME!!!!!! my wife installed a program and then i uninstalled it...........I didnt realize she had changed the installation folder into which it installed. It was a program that came with her new camera, so she mistakingly installed it into her pics folder. I uninstalled it (CAUSE IT SUCKED) and in doing so, it deleted all of the pics in that folder along with the program.
so here is the question.....can I recover these pics?????
I have not rebooted the computer, and I have the restore thing turned off.

ANY IDEAS????

www.recuva.com

It is free and does a reasonable job.

I would reinstall the software...If all u did was install it the the file associations should come back intact. And then tell it fo go find all pics....if it has that option.

it was a nikon program, and it was called nikon transfer, mainly for moving the pics from camera to PC. STUPID program. and during install it really gives you no options for pretty much anything, just where to install, and if you want quick time and nikon message service.
I guess this is why I keep telling my wife and kids to leave installing and downloading to me, that way I can make sure if its messed up I CAN TAKE ALL BLAME!!! LOL

It's quite possible they are still there hidden in the Documents and Settings/Application Data. Otherwise, what Jazz suggested would probably work.

i've said it before and i'll say it again. http://www.inside-security.de/insert_en.html
I've recovered terabytes off of servers with this program. there is even a tool that lets you set a time frame to look for deleted files. and if i rember right a tool that just recovers images.

Its a little more complex than that bud. Basically what happened was a transfer program was installed. The images were dumped into the folder that had the program. Phil did a complete uninstall of the program thereby deleting all the images in the folder.
