As part of the Rumble vs. ESG last night, we tried to play two maps on our server, but a few ESG members ran into a problem:

They'd get a message that they couldn't get on the server because someone with the same user.INI was already on the server. This was fixed by deleting the ClientID in Nextgen area of the user.INI

Just thought it might be usefull to share this, incase someone else runs into the same problem.

Oh, and someone should send Ironface on a crash-course: 'How-to-set-up-the-server-and-save-Badmotor-some-work' Spanking hyst

When ever that happens, that means they are using copies of each others installs.:)

yes that was the problem....it made them all have the same client ID. several of them had to reinstall so they just made it easy and used a GOOD install as a platform. we fixed that, it was the server that we couldnt fix...RIGHT ERIK!!!!

There isn't anything wrong with the server. That ID helps nexgen tracks bans on players that have floating IP's.

No, cause Motor fixed the server. Tournament Mode in Webadmin and NexGen don't seem to be such good friends... Maybe it'd be good if those that usually set the server made a quick-guide on how-to?

But let's not get to harsh on Erik... Oh well, maybe a little Spanking

Yes, and we had the solution on how to fix that problem.

The server was fixable but everyone has to know that with Nexgen and Webadmin, you use one or the other and not both (plus to not to keep clicking on items to set it while someone is trying to look through what is going on). The easiest solution (and this is taken from playing with a couple of groups that have ran into this problem) is to use Webadmin to only lock the server. Everything else can be done through map vote, just remind everyone not to click until everyone is set.

Then why was everybody asking me to set it up through webadmin. Maybe there can be some kind of quick setup, like on the FN servers. Then I won't be able to screw up the camping server. :o :o :o :o :o :o

Or is there a way in Nexgen to set it up for rumbles in TDM? Any help would be welcome on this.

Vote in the map, wait til everyone connects, and then check the 'Lock the Game' box under Game>Match Control tab. Oh, and tell everyone not to click in unless you want to make sure that tournament mode is checked under Game>Match Control tab. Noone else will be allowed to join the server at that point.

So you never password the server in the webadmin?

And what does that tournament mode, does it work the same as in FN, everyone needs to click in before the match starts, or does it start when 1 person clicks in? I know I can pause the game or start it in the controller and how do you setup a 6 vs 6 then? or any vs any?

It looks like I'm the moron asking the questions, but is there actually anyone else that does know how Nexgen works besides Draco hyst hyst hyst

Nexgen is meant to be an all-encompassing controller just like superwebadmin is. It's either one or the other. There is a match tab in the nexgen that allows you to set a password and for how many matches. If you are playing 5v5, the second you lock the server, the max players automatically sets to 10. If you check the tournament mode, everyone will have to click in.
