I have had this problem on a few servers now, but haven't really been able to eliminate all the possible causes:

On some servers the game freezes right after a new map comes up, the part where you can fly around. At first I thought it had something to do with a edited UTDC some servers use, but last night I was guesting for [EST] on the MIB server, which runs UTPure 7G, and it also happened. After the second frooze I decided to run UTCacheCleaner to see if it worked and it did, for two maps (one I had to dl the other I already had) but then when a new map came up: it frooze again. I don't get any error messages, other stuff (like TS) keeps working, but the game freezes and I gotta bring up the taskmanager to kill it.

Some more details: running UT GOTY on a quad-core (just one core assigned to UT), with a EVGA Nvidia 9600GT 512mb on Vista 32-bits. Rendering it with OpenGL.

If anyone has any ideas, that'd much appreciated, if you need more details, let me know!

May have found some other way around it: I installed XP on a new partition and now I got a dual-boot system...

Only to re-install UT in XP...

That's what I would have suggested. If you have Vista 64, make sure that the XP partition is 32. Good choice, Mate.
