Evil_Homer bad language

Okay.

i saw him online nothing thought. then he started to use bad language. (gay) and i let it past twice. but then he did it again. i asked him not to say it but he wouldn't listen he just kept getting more and more cocky... i said to him the there is a programe in place to stop people swearing and it there for a reason. but he just kept trying to bypass it.

if you guys can check the logs and next time you see him give him a warning becuase there are 10 years olds and so on who play this game and they might not have been subject to bad language...

I know i sound like an old fart i just wanted to make you all aware...!

Ok, I guess I should make this public. Rock, it is one thing to get me mad and its another thing to get my brother mad. Please don't piss my brother off, it would be beneficial of you not to.

'Cause then I get really pissed off (and NO ONE wants to see that), which means Phil is not going to be happy, making Ironface really upset, causing Brum to curse in Dutch, meaning Corn is going to drink more and get pissed off drunk, causing a chain of events that would not be good for world peace. After all that, someone like Mr. Book or Draco has to explain to Interpol what happened and why. Leading us in full circle.

Its all on how you form the words into a sentence. Not everyone uses the same brain wave as you. If you want the answer to you original question, it didn't apply to him because the person giving the warning most likely does not have the ability to kick someone. Now the item in your original post, if you were talking trash to players and members on a server...well, that is somewhat disrespectful (IMHO), and if it came from the console it mostly likely one of the admins viewing through a webportal at a random time.

The logs that I am talking about are located on the server, an admin has to go, and look it up. All you need to do is contact one of the several server admins with a day/time and they can look it up.

There isn't anything stored on your computer. You have to notify one of the admins and give them the map name, time and date, the server they were on, and the offenders name. The admin then can go into the server and check logs. Access to the servers them selves are very tightly controlled. Only a very select, well-trained few are given the right and ability.

Actually, on a more serious note, the thing I don't understand is why one bad word spoken will get you banned for life, but if you make a long distance shot it says "H-O-L-Y S-H-I-T!". Also have you listened to what some of the bots say and some of the music in some of the maps? But if a player says "Oh shit!" then they are treated like a kindergartener.

Oh, also, and I love this example, if one were to actually spell out what FUN stands for, that would be grounds for termination.... FUCKING Up the Neighborhood... If I said that, there would be an admin all over my balls telling me that's not appropriate because there are rules against using bad language and there are 10 year olds playing the game who have never been exposed to these bad words.

I think there may be some slightly (ok, severely) over-ambitious admins around here. Thus the major reason I'm not playing here as much as of late. I'll come back around, you guys have a kick ass server, but you can only be treated like a child (and watch other good players being treated like a child) so much before you gotta take a break from it.

I think it was you that mentioned this to me before. I told you at that time the same thing I'm going to tell you right now. It is virtually impossible to get a permanent ban here and language only becomes one of them when the person is a chronic offender. Personally, the language really doesn't bother me or anyone else that much as long as it is not being used in an angry manner towards other guests or members on the server, which it almost always is. What we have going works very well and, at the end of the day, only those who need to get banned actually get banned.

Not really sure what you mean by this. Whenever someone, member or guest, comes to me with a legitimate concern, I do take care of it in a fair and timely manner. I've been known to discipline our members when ever it is needed and something is handled incorrectly. But, I also have to deal with unfair accusations made by people, too. There are people who are kicked off the server and swear that it was wrong only to check logs and find out that the situation was handled correctly and respectfully by our members.

The only people who actually get permanent bans are cheaters, nick-lamers, and chronic troublemakers. The troublemakers usually have a nice, long, documented history of language, abuse, and false accusations. They usually get kicked for a map or two on up to a week long before a permanent ban is ever made.

We all have bad days and that is always taken into account. Evil Homer has been a regular on our servers for quite awhile with zero issues. By no means would he be ban for this offense. He wouldn't even be kicked unless he threw a complete fit when asked to stop.

I think the clan as a whole is very fair. Considering how much traffic we get and how short the Banned section of this forum is, I'd say we aren't 'Over Ambitious'. When we have over 42,000 maps played and 11,000 players in 6 months, and a ban list of only 30 players from the last 18 months, I would hardly say we are 'Over Ambitious'. If anything, the numbers say that the policies we have in place work very well and there are virtually no complaints at all.

In the end, it boils down to personal opinion. You feel like yourself and other people are being talked down too. Myself and many others feel this isn't the case. There are clans out there that this really is a problem and even someone bringing their opinions to that clans forums, would be banned for doing the correct thing. I would never do that and neither would anyone else in FUN. You brought it to the forums instead of bringing it up on the servers. At this point, I say it would be better just to agree to disagree instead of trying to drag it out. Have a good one.

i mean some people they have there opinion on how clans react to certain things. just like [FUN] they have there own precauitions and process's they go through to justify what action and precauition they need to take out on the accused.

people may protest on the action taken and that mackes admin's more annoyed. take Rockinator for example.
Even if people are persistant and annoying they may only get banned for a day or so people who use bad language for example.

when i spoke to Evil_Homer i thought he was a different guy. he never really spoke to me like that before and the amount of times i warned him not to say it. guess what... he used it again. i got fed up and i was going to call the admins. but i thought, well its only bad language i will just post it on the forums and let the problem be dealt with there which (if i believe) has already been taken care of...

The moral of this story Father_Goose is if you are going to protest, DO IT IN YOUR HEAD. People dont want to hear people moaning about other peoples problems. even if the clan name is offensive and some names in the game are offensive its different from using bad language all the time...

basically i just said all that draco did but in a more "peter Griffin" way :)

I was on the server when Joe was warning Homer, I didn't get offended but what Homer said,nor do I even recall what it was. However he was not very respectful after being warned. I think that is really the issue. If you are warned for any offense the guest should at the very least be respectful of the clan members request.

I think that it should be dropped, and if you have a problem then you should send a private messeges to one of the admins that were listed a few pages back. The problem has been stated and it sounds to me as if it is being taken care of or already delt with. Just my thoughts!
