We are parting ways with our recruit Zetto. He was caught cheating on our servers. When confronted he did admit it. He being the first IT every being busted for anything, (That and I had already approved his application when the cheating incident was brought to my attention) I figured that everyone deserves a second chance so I gave it to him. Being new, the frustration of being slaughtered prompted him to try the cheat for a map or two. He swore he wouldn't cheat anymore and wanted to learn how to play the game the right way.

The problem began when he started mindlessly spewing bullshit about cheating and using an aimbot on the server and jokingly saying other members and guests were cheating. I sent a couple of PMs to him instructing him I didn't want to see it again. Sure as shit, he did it again. I'm done. With the blessing of the founders, he has been removed from the recruitment program and ban from the servers and Teamspeak.

Below I present all the PMs, the chat log of the incident of him cheating, and a photo of him shouting his confession on a packed server.

Yes i am afriad so. I was just sick and fed of keeping dying i got i little frustrated But know i have noticed that cheating is for Haxor n00bs. i said to my self "WTF. WHY ARE YOU CHEATING. Well, it's cool that you are willing to admit. You will be allowed to proceed with the process. You mention being an admin and stopping cheaters. Here is the thing, though. Virtually all the players on our server are clean. Even those that you suspect of cheating are clean. They are just that good. The thing about this game is that it is almost 10 years old and there are alot of people who have been playing it that long. Some of the veterans are so good that you never stand a chance and sure it pisses you off, but it should make you want to play better not start screaming cheater.

You get Teamspeak installed with or without a mic and we can show you how to play like some of the monster veterans. We can teach you to trans and hit any location on a map within 10 seconds. We can teach you how to set-up your game more maximum efficiency. All I ask is that you never think of cheating twice. Have a good one.

I understand but i have not been yelling cheater really at all and my gameplay has improved since i got it 2 months ago. This definitely needs to be said. I don't want another remark made by you about cheating whether it is joking or not, about yourself or anyone else. I'm guessing you are new to UT so I'm going to explain it. Cheating in the UT99 community is taken more seriously than anything else that happens. Clans that have members that are busted cheating are often marked as cheater clans. That reputation, once saddled with it, is permanent. The fact that you have been allowed to continue with recruitment even after being busted and admitting to it shows that I'm willing to give second chances. Had you been anyone else, I would have sent all logs regarding the incident to every other clan I have on my mailing list after banning you from everything that [FUN] is responsible for. This list has hundreds of people on it.
I will not allow the remarks to continue. If it happens again I will ban you from everything before you even know you are gone so please make sure that you don't let it happen again.

You can't claim that he lacks enthusiasm, but it's like everything I said to him was ignored. I really had hoped that he would have shaped out to be a clean, kickass player. Here is the original response that he made to the post above before editing it to read what it currently says.

I didn't know he was in fact using a cheat. However I did see that post of him using an aimbot a number of times, when he was in the server. I tried to warn him, guess he didn't listen. You did the right thing! This is a great clan, keep it that way.

Bud, to clue you in on how the UT community works: It only takes one person from a clan to use or claim to use hack/cheat/whatever to tarnish an image. If caught early it shows that we do practice what we preach on screening candidates. Just because you say you will take full responsibility for this action, while wearing the [FUN-IT] tag, does not mean it will not reflex on the [FUN] clan, 'cause it does.

If you are tired of getting owned on a server, practice. All the vets in this community and in this clan have spent hours honing their skills. If you wanted to know how to get better, Draco did say that I do hold practices. This also means that I or anyone else is always willing to show you on how to get better. Take The_Phil, he wanted to know how to do a certain move so he sought someone out that knew how to do it, just so happened to be me, and learned how to do it. Now I bitch at him because he has gotten good at it and it pisses me off, so I work and practice harder.

Nope... It would be possible if he running some other program like a hook or timer of some sort. A reasonable explanation would be that he visited a server running ASH400 and the keybinds he had set-up to run the aim-bot were over-written by ASH400 to say this and he was accidentally hitting these keys in chat without actually hitting T to chat. Even if this unlikely scenario were true, you still would have been banned for cheating on someone elses server. Screwed no matter what. fingerfingerfinger

Let me start by pointing out the blatantly obvious here. [FUN] is not a traditional clan. We do things the way we do because the system we have in place works. In 15 months, there have been 2 wash-outs and maybe a dozen that just faded away into obscurity. The first wash-out was on the Halo side and was just packed full of disrespect and stupidity. The second wash-out, being Zetto, unfortunately was busted for cheating. I'd say that that is a damn good track record, better then most clans in UT99.

We don't recruit on skill because we hate people who are full of themselves.I don't care how good somebody is. That persons skill does not give them the right to talk down too or belittle a less experienced player.

We are all friends here who enjoy each others company and love playing this game. For the most part, [FUN] is an invitation-only clan. There are the occasional walk-ins and they are felt out plenty before hand in TS and on the servers to make sure that their personality will not conflict with the group of friends that are already here. Usually, when a recruit is dismissed, it's because they just didn't fit in and it happens quietly. Since Zetto here was busted cheating, it was absolutely necessary to publicly voice it. Our system works and works well so I say keep your opinion to yourself until you are aware of all the facts. When you know all the facts then feel free to speak up.
