Netspeed is how fast the internet connection you have your computer hooked too is. Our servers don't like anyone running less than ISDN speeds which is 5000. If you are running DSL or Cable, go to in-game preferences/network and select cable/DSL. Most people think that this doesn't make any difference but it does. This setting is what your computer tells the server it can handle. If you have your preferences set to Dial-up, the server knows that it can only send little bits of data so that it only sends the important stuff. If you have T1 set then the server hits you with every little detail it's pumping out. The higher your netspeed, the better quality game-play you have as long as your connection can support what you are claiming. Game-play can become laggy if you claim you have a cable/DSL connection but you only have ISDN or dial-up. The server starts pumping out more info than what the client can receive and suddenly things start to get jerky because data is being lost. Our servers have everyone capped at 10000 which is cable/DSL. Lan speeds or T1 are 20000. The lag issue could be something else, as well. If you need help sorting things out let me know. Have a good one.
