Hi, I was thinking of getting this computer & was wondering if anyone knew if it should play UT3 just fine & UT on this server for that matter. Here are the specs:

Windows Vista Home Edition PC Tower.

The tower was built by Cyberpower Inc and includes:

GIGABYTE M57SLI-S4 AM2 NFORCE 570 Motherboard
Athlon 6000+ X2 Dual Core Processor
3GB DDR2 Ram
2x EVGA GEFORCE 8400 GS 256MB 16X PCIE Video Cards
160GB Hard Drive

Thanks,
Chris

just for perspective here is what i run. I can run UT3 just fine, as well as ut99 of course. I am sorely outdated and i do notice ut3 starts really really slow on my rig.

ASUS P4P800E Deluxe Motherboard
Socket 478 P4 3.0ghz (oc'd to 3.2)
2 gigs A-Data pc3200 Ram
WD 10k rpm 150 gig HD (sata150)
Nvidia 512 mb Geforce 7600 GS AGP
Heavily slipstreamed Windows XP (vista is the DEVIL)

I think you will be fine. but some of the other experts here will chime in shortly i bet.

Thanks, I was thinking it would do it but since I don't know what the hell I'm talking about I figured I'd ask around. Also, the price on it is $400, does that seem fair enough???

Up the RAM to 2 gigs and install at least a 7000 series NVidia and you will surely have no issues. My 5600 couldn't run UT3 but my 6600 runs it at medium settings. I don't bother playing UT3 because the I feel the developers kind of let us all down. Have a good one.

Your desktop is much more than you will ever need to run UT99. You may even have issues trying to run the game on your new laptop due to it being way to fast. UT99 was designed to run on a Intel Pentium 200 MHz, and 32 MB of RAM. Your desktop, being single core, shouldn't have an issue at all. Have a good one.
